Friday July 10, multiple students from area fire departments attended and graduated the 2022 Chief Shabbona fire school. The ceremony held at Reed custer high school in Braidwood attracted large crowds of family and friends. The 240 hour long class challenges students with both high physical and mental demands under live fire conditions to ensure the students are ready for real emergency's. Chief Paul Johnson and all other members of the Dwight fire protection district are happy to announce the pinning of Firefighter Don Hughes and Firefighter Patrick Hir. We wish them a long and prosperous career.
