Dwight Fire Department and Dwight EMS responded to a semi roll over on the entrance ramp of Interstate 55

Dwight Fire Deputy Chief Justin Dyer reports that the Dwight Fire Department and Dwight EMS responded to a semi roll over on the entrance ramp of Interstate 55 South Bound at the 220 mile marker yesterday evening. Upon arrival crews found a single occupant that sustained several non life threatening injuries and was being assisted out of the top side of the turned over vehicle by passerby travelers. The victim was unable to get to the ground and had to be assisted by the fire department. The Dwight firefighters packaged the patient and used the tower ladder to safely remove the patient without causing more injuries or further damage to the vehicle. Dwight Fire and Dwight EMS were assisted by Dwight Police and the Illinois State Police. There was not any further hazards found as a result of the accident. Patient was transported to Morris Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
